Games that have fake operating systems, but I think most like these two:

I like exploring my fake operating systems, but I also like customizing them as I go about exploring them.

I wanted to showcase a new legacy challenge I made! This is the challenge Tooty Fruity Legacy Challenge! I was inspired by lilsimsies Very Veggie challenge. I’m thinking of adding a bonus generation when the new pack comes out or maybe I’ll make a new challenge, I’m undecided.
I made a google doc that is a little more detailed about the challenge/generations as well as some cards (in Cava) for the generations for easy viewing while playing along! I have them linked in my Linktree they should be right at the top!
The cards in Canva are available even without an account so no worries there ☺️
I am currently in the process of testing out the challenge to make sure it’s playable- so something’s may change! I haven’t played the sims in a couple years due to life changes. Some aspects of the challenge were placed purely on research online!

Eden of the East and Sword Art Online (cont.)
In the anime Sword Art Online, I was able to relate to Kirito in the beginning, where he expressed how he was glad to be in the simulation world, because his hard work was meaningful. Truthfully, it can feel like hard work doesn’t mean much, as it can’t guarantee the results you want, at least in the real world. Life isn’t fair, and luck or connections can get you further than dedication. But in this video game, if you work hard to level up and get coins, you will be successful. I can see how that kind of world is enjoyable for the people who innocently played the game before they were stuck. The simulation provides players with the unique experience to work hard and be rewarded for that hard work, something that seems to be rare in real life. While in the virtual world, the characters began to enjoy their new lives as they were, and many lost sight of escaping the game. This acceptance of the simulation world makes me think if the simulation was a better world than the real one. It is obvious the whimsical world of Aincrad would be a fun place to experience, but I wonder if life was more “fair” in the game. Again, in the first episode Kirito implies that hard work means more in the game than in real life, and isn’t that a good thing? Shouldn’t hard work determine your status? I think many places around the globe struggle with the idea of fairness. It is difficult to make something “fair” for everyone. But Kirito explains in later episodes that the game was designed to be fair for all players, similar to an ideal society. This makes me think that the simulation world could actually provide a better life than the real world could. While this is only possible because it is a game, it makes me wonder what would need to happen for a fair reality to exist for everyone. I think a simulation world offers a unique way to display the “perfect world,” whether that was the creators intention or not. Sword Art Online creates the idea that there is a way to make the world a more “fair” place through valuing actual work more than appearances or titles. But even in the simulation world, the “guilds” that form show evidence of hierarchy and power. The difference between this and the real world is that higher ranking members of guilds got to their position through dedication and effort in the game. As always there are exceptions, as seen when it was revealed the top member of Asuna’s guild was Kayaba Akihika, the creator of the game and the person who trapped them inside. He was able to get to the top of the game unfairly (he was immortal), showing that even in a “perfect” and “fair” world there will always be people that cheat the system to get on top. Maybe this implies that a “fair” world is not possible, or at least not outside of simulations. (2/2)

Art Commissions Open
Alright, so here we go, take two. I am offering art commissions, both in general and for Neopets characters, as a way to supplement my income.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The general commissions can be found at my Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/eternalsailorchaos16088/commissions
My Ko-Fi's Commission Rules: https://ko-fi.com/post/Commission-FAQs-and-Rules-I3I2WLN2J
The Neopets-specific commission shop is at: https://shoppy.gg/@EternalSailorCha
My Neopets Fanart Shoppy's Rules: https://eternalsshoppyrules.carrd.co/
Context: I am an undergraduate student in one of Brazil's public universities, who lives on financial assistance of the university and my undergrad research fellowship, but those assistance amounts are becoming less and less able to cover the costs of maintaining myself in university, as housing and food costs are going through the roof in my city, and I can't even live at home with parents, because I do not have a home to go to.
My main source of supplementary income, translation, has been taking a nosedive with the advent of AI translation and automatization of translation, and so I go on for way too long without jobs to work, and I keep on getting myself into credit card debt and loans to cover basic needs or whenever something happens, like me getting sick and needing meds, which is very often. I have a terrible schooling schedule for me to get any type of job, as my university does not care for poorer students beyond the small financial assistance they give, and make you have to toil and beg to get. Meanwhile, my parents can help with some assistance, but it is becoming lesser and lesser and more unstable, and I share it with my sister.
I need to be able to finish my undergraduate, and be able to sustain myself through my graduate studies, and, on a shorter term, I need to gather up money, for example to move to a different place, where I can rent my own room instead of sharing it. Also, I need money for my monthly expenses, like food and transport. This is why I have decided to take up commissions, and applied for the Neopets fanart program (although I have yet to hear back from them).
If you want to see your character or a character you like, or a full illustration, done in my artstyle, then please do feel free to peruse my commissions and message me at here, or in my email or IG to talk about it.
Thank you very much for your time.

what if you could literally walk through tamriel irl
okay so hear me out. i've been obsessing over this game concept and i need to share it with fellow scrolls nerds because i think it could actually be amazing???
the concept: mundus mover 🗡️
imagine pokemon go but it's actually a proper elder scrolls rpg. like, PROPER. not some simplified mobile trash.
the magic: tamriel gets overlaid on the real world using GPS, but here's the genius part - land only touches land, water only touches water. so when you're walking through whiterun hold, you're actually walking on real grass. when you hit the sea of ghosts, there's actual water there.
your neighborhood becomes cyrodiil. your morning jog is a quest through the jerall mountains. that park you always walk through? congrats, it's now the great forest.
---
why this would be incredible
✨ actual elder scrolls depth - full character creation, skill trees, crafting, the works
✨ gesture-based combat - tap/swipe mechanics that actually require skill
✨ see your character - not sprites, actual 3D models with your gear
✨ all races free - no paywall bullshit, everyone gets to be their favorite race
✨ constellation system - pick your birthsign OR choose the serpent if you want privacy
✨ religious diversity - worship according to your race's pantheon, claim shrines
---
the absolutely wild parts
orsinium is DYNAMIC 💪
the strongest orc player in the world controls orsinium's location. want to be chief? better start training. get your stronghold raided? someone stronger takes over and orsinium moves to their neighborhood. with all the damage you took.
dark brotherhood sanctuaries move when discovered
just like in skyrim! get found out too much? time to relocate and rebuild
khajiit caravans randomly appear
because of course they do
shrines move until someone claims them
find a shrine to your favorite divine/daedra wandering around? better grab it before someone else does
---
the dickensian twist
this is where it gets interesting. i want something that captures that victorian social mobility vibe - where hard work and virtue can elevate anyone, where communities depend on each other, where your circumstances don't define your potential.
but make it inclusive. the f2p model means real-world wealth doesn't matter. multiple paths to success mean different play styles work. accessibility options ensure everyone can participate.
it's oliver twist meets tamriel meets your daily walk to work.
---
why i'm posting this
honestly? i think this could actually happen. mobile gaming is huge, gps games work, elder scrolls has massive appeal. the technology exists.
but i'm just one person with a vision and zero programming skills.
so tumblr hive mind - what do you think? would you walk through tamriel? any features you'd want? know anyone in game development who might be interested in making this reality?
blaze if you'd play this 🔄
reblog with your thoughts 💭
tag your scrolls-obsessed friends 👥

Did y'all ever see that one post that said something like "the problem with being creative is that I wanna create everything" because I just got Scratch because the other day I had an idea for a video game and now I'm gonna make a crappy demo for fun

honestly, when I saw it in that one Nintendo Direct, I was kinda curious about Fashion Dreamer. I've never really been for these kinds of games (I remember my sister playing Style Savvy on the DS a lot), but something about FD spoke to me when I saw it. I'm not going to purchase it yet since it just came out, and I feel I don't know enough about it or if I'd like it, but I'm looking forward to seeing if other people really enjoy it and figuring it out as time passes.
